Who are we?
The Martinique Zoo combines animal discovery, historical heritage and a botanical garden in the heart of an exceptional natural site.

A zoological park within a historical and botanical site
The Martinique Zoo is much more than an animal park. Located on the former Habitation Latouche, one of the oldest estates on the island, it combines 18th century ruins, tropical trails and areas dedicated to animals.
The course allows you to observe species from the Caribbean and South America, in an environment that highlights the nature of Martinique.
The visit is through the landscaped gardens created by Jean-Philippe Thoze, also designer of the Balata Garden. This unique blend of history, botany and wildlife makes it an unmissable outing.

Our preservation and awareness-raising actions
Each visit contributes to the support of the actions carried out by the Zoo to protect tropical biodiversity. The site contributes to raising public awareness through educational panels, commented feeds and regular exchanges with caregivers.
School visits are also organized to introduce children to the species of the region, their role in ecosystems and conservation issues. The Martinique Zoo thus works to transmit a better understanding of the fauna and flora of tropical areas.
A complementary experience to discover
To extend their exploration, visitors can discover the Balata Garden, located near Fort-de-France.
Designed by the same artist, this tropical garden is one of the most famous sites on the island.
An ideal visit to combine with the Zoo to enjoy two emblematic places combining nature, botany and Martinican heritage.
